Summer is Here!

It's been a bit of a strange week so far. I've been torn between loving the gorgeous weather and obsessing over the temperature in our bedroom and panicking about Jake. He has spent the majority of time either naked or just in his nappy and has been a bit of a grump, poor thing. I just don't think he knew what to do with himself.

The weather this week allowed us to eat some of my favourite types of food. We had a lovely Mediterranean platter style dinner out in the garden on Wednesday night.

Now this is a lovely meal for summer and no cooking was required except for heating up the bread in the oven. We had hummus, mozzarella, parma ham, chorizo, lomo curado, warmed ciabatta, olive oil & balsamic dip and a salad of rocket and cherry tomatoes with a balsamic and olive oil dressing. The only thing missing was a big pile of olives, which I forgot to buy. It took less than 5 minutes to throw it all together and was delicious (even if I do say so myself!).

It was also great to sit out in the garden. It meant that we could get away from the big entertainment box that dominates our living room and actually talk to each other! Jimmy is one of those blokes that gets literally sucked into the TV when it's on. We chatted about all sorts and had a right laugh for a good couple of hours. Sometimes it's the little things that make us happy.
