Trip away: The Blackwell Grange Hotel

I have been very slack with my blog for the past week and a bit (alright almost two weeks) but I am back on track and have loads of ideas for posts. I have been awol mainly because I have not been organised enough to write posts in advance and schedule them.

Jimmy and I went on a two night break to The Blackwell Grange Hotel near Darlington, it was so lovely. We were bought a two night stay for Christmas and only just got around to using it. Our package included a two night stay with breakfast included, and I love a buffet breakfast! I have to say it was a stunning 17th Century building and the breakfasts were incredible. I couldn't fault the service we received and Jimmy made use of all their leisure centre facilities, which included a heated indoor pool.

It was so lovely to get away and feel like a normal couple again rather than solely talking about cot mattresses and baby bits. While we were there we popped over to Hartlepool, Redcar and Saltburn. I love coming to the coast and it always reminds me of home (I come from Cleethorpes). I wished I had taken my 'big' camera because I think I could have got some gorgeous shots but managed to grab a couple of pics on my iPhone.

I was too chicken to go as far as Jimmy did because I spotted all the puddles and didn't want to get wet. It was pretty choppy and Jimmy got a little shower which I felt very smug about! So all in all, I loved our little trip away. It will be probably be the last time we get away as a couple rather than a family x

  1. It looks like you had such a lovely break. Love the moody sea photos! x

    1. Thanks Donna, we had a great time milling about aimlessly. I just wish I had packed my DSLR x
