9 Years Together

So today Jimmy and I have been together for 9 years. We never really celebrate our 'anniversary' because to be honest we either both forget or I was at work (hospitality has a habit of destroying almost all special occasions). This is the date we first ahem... got together and it's probably not our official date but it's a date we both agreed on.

Whats weird is that today is also my best friends 1st wedding anniversary so congratulations Emily and Alex! It is strange that she is also pregnant and our dues dates are only days apart, well we did always do everything together!

I remember our first year together clearly and it only seems like yesterday. We worked together in a pub/club and when we became a couple it was complete scandal. Everyone knew from the off because we shared a staff house and we literally had no privacy whatsoever. We quickly moved in to the same room to allow the house to have a living room, as we were packed in pretty tight.

The border ranges between Queensland and New South Wales 2006.
After only a couple of months together we decided to travel to Australia on a working holiday visa and after being an item for just 6 months we had booked and paid for our trip. We went to Oz with just £1000 between the both of us and stayed in the dingiest hostels imaginable. We both found work pretty quickly and soon settled into the aussie way of life. It wasn't always easy and we argued a lot because we had a joint bank account. To this day we only ever argue about one thing, money. We had massive highs like learning to scuba dive off the Great Barrier Reef and huge lows such as living off noodles and barely surviving with no money. I remember one particular screaming match in Safeway about some chocolate milk he wanted but I said we couldn't afford, in the end we both burst out laughing at ourselves and Jimmy got his BIG M milk! But no matter how bad our situation was we always had a laugh and enough money for a few drinks (any fellow backpackers remember Goon, Sunnyvale Fruity Lexia?)

To this day we still manage to laugh at each other and I think thats what keeps us so solid. Jimmy is always up for a laugh and loves to join in any kind of action going, which is one the things I love the most about him. I can't believe it's been 9 years! We have survived travelling together, no money, long distance, my education (all bloody 6 years of it) and living together. I wouldn't change one day of it. Now we are both excited for our greatest adventure yet, our little boy being born in January 2015! Happy anniversary love, even though we will probably spend it dosing about being lazy!

The day we announced our pregnancy to the world 2014.
